Ayasofya Hotel Old City

Quality Istanbul Hotel

The Ayasofya Hotel Istanbul was first built in the 19th century as 3 separate, private Ottoman homes. Made in the traditional wooden style. These homes fell apart over the next 100 years.  In 1990, theese buildings were restored and opened as a Special Historic Class Hotel and ever since then; this has offered complete Turkish hospitality to guests from around the globe. April 2009 saw  Gaye Reeves, an Australian woman from Melbourne take over the hotel. Ayasofya has since seen significant upgrades in room comfort and overall enhancements  to the beautiful old Ottoman building.

Located beneath the ancient Hippodrome walls, the hotel is only 300 meters downhill from the Hippodrome and the world famous Blue Mosque. The Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Bacilica Cistern and the tramline are all in relatively close proximity, making Ayasofya one of the premier hotels in Istanbul.

Our hotel is unique in its location. Set in small cobblestoned streets among a triditional local community, you are not just close to all of the wonderful Byzantium and Ottoman monuments, but you also get to experience being part of the rich Istanbul culture during your stay.

You are guaranteed to feel like a real part of the Istanbul lifestyle and not just a tourist ! Our Istanbul hotel is friendly, welcoming and absolutely unique in all of our services, location and atmosphere !

The most common compliment that we receive from our guests is that after a long day of sightseeing in the busy Old City, it feels like coming home !
